Everybody loves Little Orphan Annie, the big-hearted, adventurous little orphan against the world, and her best friend, her dog Sandy. Later, Annie is befriended by Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks, a self made millionaire who introduces her to a life of ease. This officially-licensed Italian style charm features Annie hugging her dog in gold-plated metal alloy and red, yellow and brown enamel, on a stainless steel base. Made in Asia, it is in the medium size (9 mm.). Created in 1924 by cartoonist Harold Gray for the Chicago Tribune, Little Orphan Annie had many adventures with do-gooders, crooked politicians, gangsters and even Nazis. The character was made into a successful Broadway play in 1977, and a revived comic strip arose in 1979, after the 1968 death of Mr. Gray.
