Chinese Knotted Bracelet with Genuine Carved Jade Flower by Han Jewel (BS75)

This one-of-a-kind Chinese knotted bracelet features a round pale greenish orange jade flower with tiny dark beads in the flower's center. Six other jade beads in pale geen and tan are worked into the knotting surrounding the flower. There are two dangling jade beads at the ends of the pull cords. The bracelet features very intricate Chinese knotting in dark green cotton cord. This lovely piece was hand knotted by Han Jewel, two California Chinese girlfriends. It adjusts to fit from 6 inches to 8 inches by pulling the end cords. The flower symbolizes good fortune to the wearer.

Chinese knotting is an ancient folk art, which has existed in Chinese daily life for more than a thousand years. Jade is a symbol of wealth and power in China. Ancient Chinese believed that jade was a link between human beings and the golds and deflected evils. Confucius claimed that jade had the qualities of benevolence, wisdom, justice, courtesy, loyalty, happiness, trustworthiness, heaven, earth, virtue and truth.
