Chinese Knotted Bracelet with Genuine Carved Jade Fish by Han Jewel (BS97)

This one-of-a-kind Chinese knotted bracelet features two genuine pale green jade fish, with two round jade disks in the knotting cord. There are four matching dangling jade beads at the ends of the pull cords. The bracelet features very intricate Chinese knotting in pale purple and slate blue cotton cord. This lovely piece was hand knotted by Han Jewel, two California Chinese girlfriends. It adjusts to fit from 6 inches to 8 inches by pulling the end cords. The fish symbolizes wealth to the wearer.

Chinese knotting is an ancient folk art, which has existed in Chinese daily life for more than a thousand years. Jade is a symbol of wealth and power in China. Ancient Chinese believed that jade was a link between human beings and the golds and deflected evils. Confucius claimed that jade had the qualities of benevolence, wisdom, justice, courtesy, loyalty, happiness, trustworthiness, heaven, earth, virtue and truth.
