Chinese Knotted Bracelet with Genuine Jade Barrel Bead by Han Jewel (B504)

This one-of-a-kind Chinese knotted bracelet features a genuine pale green jade barrel bead as the focal point, surrounded by six lucky knots in moss green cord. There are two matching dangling jade beads at the ends of the pull cords. The bracelet features intricate Chinese knotting in green colored cotton cord. This lovely piece was hand knotted by Han Jewel, two California Chinese girlfriends. It adjusts to fit from 6 inches to 8 inches by pulling the end cords. The knots are for good luck; they are one of the eight Buddhist symbols for long life uninterrupted by setbacks.

Chinese knotting is an ancient folk art, which has existed in Chinese daily life for more than a thousand years. Jade is a symbol of wealth and power in China. Ancient Chinese believed that jade was a link between human beings and the golds and deflected evils. Confucius claimed that jade had the qualities of benevolence, wisdom, justice, courtesy, loyalty, happiness, trustworthiness, heaven, earth, virtue and truth.
