Chinese "Lucky Knot" Knotted Bracelet with Genuine Jade Beads by Han Jewel (BS05)
This unique Chinese knotted bracelet features an eggplant purple lucky knot in the center. The lucky knot is one of the eight Buddhist symbols and symbolizes a long life uninterrupted by setbacks. This lovely piece was hand-knotted by Han Jewelry, two California Chinese girlfriends. The bracelet features two genuine white Chinese jade donut beads with intricately knotted burnished gold cotton cord. There are also two small pale green jade beads at the end of the pull cords. It adjusts to fit from 5-1/4 inches to 8 inches by pulling the end cords.
Chinese knotting is an ancient folk art, which has existed in Chinese daily life for more than a thousand years. Jade is a symbol of wealth and power in China. Ancient Chinese believed that jade was a link between human beings and the golds and deflected evils. Confucius claimed that jade had the qualities of benevolence, wisdom, justice, courtesy, loyalty, happiness, trustworthiness, heaven, earth, virtue and truth.
