Chinese Knotted Bracelet with Genuine Carved Jade Flower and Beads by Han Jewel (BS30)

This unique Chinese knotted bracelet features a central dramatically carved pale green jade flower with tiny jade beads in the center of the flower, symbolizing "good fortune." The flower is hand knotted with pale purple cotton cord, with another strand of the tiny green jade beads cleverly knotted on the bracelet. Two additional full moon shaped genuine jade disks symbolizing contentment and happiness are knotted in the rear of the bracelet, with matching jade beads at the end of the cords. This lovely piece was hand knotted by Han Jewel, two California Chinese girlfriends. It adjusts to fit from 5-1/4 inches to 8-1/2 inches by pulling the end cords.

Chinese knotting is an ancient folk art, which has existed in Chinese daily life for more than a thousand years. Jade is a symbol of wealth and power in China. Ancient Chinese believed that jade was a link between human beings and the golds and deflected evils. Confucius claimed that jade had the qualities of benevolence, wisdom, justice, courtesy, loyalty, happiness, trustworthiness, heaven, earth, virtue and truth.
