Chinese Knotted Bracelet with Genuine Carved Jade Beads by Han Jewel (B499)

This one-of-a-kind Chinese knotted bracelet features a central rectagular carved green jade stone, surrounded by orange-green jade beads and tiny pale green jade beads, all intricately knotted in ancient Chinese fashion with a dark green cotton cord. There are two small orange jade beads at the end of the cords. This lovely piece was hand knotted by Han Jewel, two California Chinese girlfriends. It adjusts to fit from 6 inches to 8-1/2 inches by pulling the end cords.

Chinese knotting is an ancient folk art, which has existed in Chinese daily life for more than a thousand years. Jade is a symbol of wealth and power in China. Ancient Chinese believed that jade was a link between human beings and the golds and deflected evils. Confucius claimed that jade had the qualities of benevolence, wisdom, justice, courtesy, loyalty, happiness, trustworthiness, heaven, earth, virtue and truth.
